BASKETBALL ALL-STATE & ALL-STARS

Basketball Accolades Announced

All-State and All-Star teams were recently announced by Oklahoma coaching organizations, featuring three Maroons.

Lady Maroons senior, Braylee Dale, was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) 2022 Small East All-State girls basketball team. This is the highest honor awarded in Oklahoma basketball. The last time PHS had an All-Stater was in 2010.

The OCA All-State game is scheduled for July 28 at 7 p.m. at Jenks High School. Coach Paul Duncan was awarded the head coaching duties for the Small East All-State team.

Dale added another honor to her list by picking up a spot on the The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association (OGBCA) Middle West All-State team. The OGBCA All-State games will be played Saturday, June 4, at Mustang High School. The large-school game will be at 2 p.m., the middle-school game at 3:30 p.m. and the small school at 5 p.m. Paul Duncan was named the OGBCA Northwest Region Coach of the Year.

Josey West also received an honor from the OCA. She was announced as a 3A All-Star by Class. This is awarded annually to the top 12 players in class 3A that were nominated. West will continue her basketball career, playing for McPherson College next year.

For the Maroons, Dylan Hight was named to the All-Star team by the Oklahoma Boys Coaching Association. The OBCA All-Star game will be held during the annual OBCA All-Star weekend at the University of Central Oklahoma on June 4. Hight was also selected to represent Perry on the 2022 OBCA Region 2 All-District team.

Congratulations to Braylee, Josey, and Dylan, and best of luck on your future endeavors!
