BOOK FAIR WEEK

The Perry Elementary School and Junior High School libraries will both host their Scholastic Fall Book Fair Week from Monday, November 7 through Friday, November 11.

The elementary Book Fair will take place in the lower elementary library between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Students in Pre-K through 6th grade will get to visit the Book Fair throughout the week. In addition to Book Fair shopping each day, students and their families are encouraged to attend Family Night on the evening of Thursday, November 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the lower elementary gym. There will be dinner and bingo for the whole family to enjoy. The pulled pork meal is $5 per person and bingo cards are $1 each or 6 for $5. The Perry Parents and Teachers (PPT) organization volunteers are hosting the family night activities.

Cash, check or credit card are accepted for Book Fair purchases. Checks should be made payable to Perry Elementary School. New this year, sales tax will be collected on all Book Fair purchases.

The Book Fair also has a digital payment option, the eWallet, which allows students to have a safe and secure method of paying, if you don’t want to send cash to school. Parents and guardians can set up an account and have funds immediately available for your child to shop at the Book Fair. Friends and family can also contribute to your child’s account. For more information or to set up an online account, visit the Perry Elementary Book Fair webpage at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/perryelementary

Coinciding during the same week is the Perry Junior High School Book Fair, which will be held at the new junior high library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Junior high students are encouraged to bring money to shop the book selections or utilize the online eWallet option by visiting https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/perryjuniorhighschool. All 7th and 8th grade students will visit the Book Fair during their Monday English class and have additional opportunities to shop all week. Checks should be made payable to Perry Junior High School. Parents and guests interested in visiting the Book Fair must check in at the office to get a guest pass to enter the school.

If you’re all booked up during Book Fair week or just want to keep shopping, parents and community members have the option to visit the online Book Fair, accessible at the above website links. The online Book Fair allows children to send wish lists, offers an expanded book selection (books for all ages, even adult titles), and allows members of the community to purchase books to help support Perry Schools for an extended time, through November 17.

All purchases at the Book Fair benefit the libraries and your support is greatly appreciated.

Please plan ahead and make plans to attend Book Fair week with your child, grandchild, or a friend, and don’t miss the elementary Family Night on Thursday! If you have any questions, please call Perry Public Schools Librarian, Karee Grim at 336-4471.
