Perry Schools announces new Operations Director
The Perry Board of Education met on Tuesday evening and approved the hiring of Russell Brand. He is joining Perry Public Schools as the Operations Director and will be responsible for school safety and security, maintenance and transportation.
Staff welcomed Brand for his first day on Wednesday, October 11.
He has a 24-year history working with fire departments, previously serving as the Perry Fire Chief/Ambulance Service Director/City Emergency Management, Perry Assistant Fire Chief and also a short time as the Blackwell Fire Chief.
He attended Northern Oklahoma College and received EMT training from Meridian Technology Center and EMT Intermediate training from Autry Technology Center in Enid.
Brand was born and raised in Perry. He is married to Angela and they have three children, Brenna, Adam and Jeffrey, as well as two grandsons, David and Dominic.
Upon hiring, Superintendent Chad Wilson commented, “I'm excited to bring him on because he has a wealth of knowledge and experience with operations, safety/security and he is very community minded - he loves Perry!”
Although this will be a change of pace for Brand, he says he is looking forward to this opportunity to serve the community in a new capacity.
