Baseball Seniors earn OBCA All-State and NWOBCA All-Star Honors


The Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA) announced its 2024 All-State baseball rosters last week. 

Perry High School senior Kyler Zagar was selected to the OBCA Middle West All-State team. A prestigious honor recognizing the top baseball players in the state. 

Zagar will play in the All-State games, set for Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

Making the OBCA class 3A All-Star West roster was Zagar and Maddox Sanders. 

In addition, the Northwest Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (NWOBCA) recently announced awards for the 2024 season. 

Zagar was named the large school pitcher of the year and the Maroons head coach Bret Bouher was named large school coach of the year. 

Making the NWOBCA All-Star team were all Perry seniors, including Maddox Sanders, Jose Tiscareno, Hunter Vorndran, and Kyler Zagar. 

The NWOBCA All-Star game will be played on May 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Northwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Alva. Awards will be presented prior to the game.
 
The Maroons received well-deserving accolades after an unprecedented season, finishing as the class 3A state runner-up team. 
 
All four incredible PHS senior athletes have committed to play baseball at the collegiate level. Left-handed pitcher, Maddox Sanders will play at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Middle infielder, Jose Tiscareno is headed to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami. Hunter Vorndran will continue his academic and athletic career as a middle infielder for Highland Community College Scotties baseball team in Highland, Kansas. Kyler Zagar will be joining the Cowley College Tigers baseball team as a pitcher in Arkansas City, Kansas.
