ROBOTICS GRANT

Toro Awards $3,000 Grant for Robotics

The Toro Company has built a legacy of giving back to the communities where their employees live and work. Through The Toro Company Foundation, one of their focus areas is supporting local robotics programs.

Perry Public Schools recently applied for a grant to enhance and expand robotics resources for students. School administrators were notified that they were awarded the grant in the amount of $3,000.

The grant will be used to purchase robotics equipment and supplies for the new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses offered to Perry Junior High students, instructed by Laddie Rupp.

Robotics tools will be a great addition at the junior high level, allowing students to be creative, think outside the box, research parts, design, assemble, program, and operate robots. This will also give them the opportunity to gain experience in robotics before entering high school and having the option to join the PHS Robotics club, which builds robots to compete at contests.

With the support of The Toro Company, Perry Schools is helping fuel a growing interest and foster future engineers.
