Car Line Procedures for Student Drop-off & Pickup
The first day of school for Perry Public Schools students is Thursday, August 15.
For students being dropped off and/or picked up from school by car, we ask that parents and guardians take time to review the maps provided.
Following car line procedure will help ensure a smooth student drop-off and pickup for everyone.
As you enter and exit school property, please pay close attention to school staff working the line to keep the flow of traffic moving, and keep students safe as they enter/exit vehicles.
At Perry Lower Elementary School, please review the map and adhere to the following procedures:
- When entering the elementary schools on 15th Street, use the turn lane heading northbound so traffic lanes remain open.
- At morning drop-off, parents should stay in the vehicle and use a single line.
- At afternoon pickup, two lines are formed and name tags provided by teachers should be displayed in car window.
- Please pull all the way up to the line/cone (multiple cars should unload/load at one time).
- We also ask that any students checking out at the end of the day, check out before 2:45 p.m. The lower elementary parking lot is reserved for buses at the end of the day.
At Perry Junior High School, students are to be dropped off and picked up at the Maroon Athletic Center main entrance. Please note that car riders will only be allowed to be picked up in front of the MAC after school, not at the JH office doors. Review the drop-off and pickup map for visual instructions.
Use caution as you drive through all school zones and crosswalks. We appreciate the help of local law enforcement who patrol the school zones during morning drop off and afternoon pickup.
School doors open at 7:45 a.m. and the first bell rings at 8:10 a.m. at all school sites. Elementary is dismissed at 3:15 p.m. and JH/HS is dismissed at 3:20 p.m.
