Aviation Class Visits Perry Airport
On Friday, September 6, the new Aviation and Aerospace STEM class at Perry High School visited the Perry Airport. PHS instructor, Mr. Ron Dwyer led the class on this trip and they met airport manager, Terence Hulet when they arrived.
While at the airport, students toured the main hangar where they saw different types of small planes and one helicopter. Hulet conducted the tour and shared more about day-to-day operations of the airport. Students asked questions and were able to sit in the helicopter.
"We are so grateful for Mr. Hulet's willingness to share his knowledge with our students. He has been, and will continue to be, a valuable resource to our new aviation program at Perry High School,” commented Amanda Wilson, PPS STEM Coordinator.
There are currently nine freshmen in this class and it is a part of the STEM education program at Perry Public Schools.
