Sam Davison will take the helm as head coach for the Perry High School boys basketball program, while the Maroons' former head coach, Kyle Bengs, remains on staff as assistant coach after a personal decision to step down for health-related reasons.
Davison joined Perry Public Schools in August of 2023 as the high school history teacher and served as an assistant coach for boys basketball and track in the 2023-2024 season. He will continue to teach and assist with track as he steps into his new role.
Davison was raised in Oklahoma City, but he has strong connections to Perry as his parents, grandparents, and other family members are from Perry. His wife Brittany is a third grade teacher at Perry Upper Elementary School and they have four daughters enrolled at Perry Schools.
Prior to Perry, he coached six seasons as the boys basketball assistant coach at Community Christian School in Norman, and before that coached junior high boys basketball at Brink Junior High School in OKC. He has a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from West Coast Baptist College.
The PHS basketball season opener is December 3 at home against Blackwell. Make plans to join Coach Davison and the Maroons this season! View the full season schedule on the school app or visit:
