Perry Public Schools student, Jeffrey Harder has been accepted into the Opportunity Orange Scholars program at Oklahoma State University (OSU). This program is highly selective, and Jeffrey is among a limited number of students accepted each year.
The Opportunity Orange Scholars program was established in 2022 by the OSU College of Education and Human Sciences. It is a comprehensive transition initiative designed for young adults aged 18 to 26. Those admitted can pursue a two-year, non-degree academic certificate in Career and Community Studies, and they will be fully immersed in the OSU college experience, living and learning on the Stillwater campus. This program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a comprehensive transition and post-secondary education program.
Jeffrey is the first Perry Maroon to ever be selected to be a part of this program.
Perry’s Foundational Learning Program instructor, Ms. Shelynn Kelly, organized a reception at school to celebrate his big achievement on Thursday, March 6. The event was complete with a special guest appearance by Pistol Pete to officially welcome him to the Cowboy family.
Congratulations to Jeffrey and best wishes on his future academic and career endeavors!
