STUDENTS LUNCH BALANCE DUE JULY 1, 2024
 
There are many negative lunch account balances remaining for students from the 2023-2024 school year. Perry Public Schools Child Nutrition department asks that all outstanding balances be paid off by July 1, 2024. 
 
Payments are accepted by cash, check or credit card. Cash/check can be mailed or dropped off at any school site office. 
 
To pay by credit card, parents/guardians can login to the Parent Portal and select “Guardian Portal” to see their student’s lunch room balance and make a payment with credit card.

As always, PPS accepts donations from the community to help cover unpaid student meal balances to anonymously assist families struggling to pay their outstanding bill in full.

The 2024-2025 application for the Free & Reduced school meals program is not yet available. The state department will release it after July 1, 2024 and all PPS parents/guardians will be notified when it is ready.
 
A new application is required each school year. If you previously submitted an application, it will not roll over to the new school year; we must receive the latest 2024-25 application and process it to verify your family’s eligibility. We look forward to receiving your application in July/August!

Pay on lunch accounts:
1) Make payments online via the Parent Portal:
-Login to Parent Portal 
-Click on “Guardian Portal”
-View lunch balance and click “Make Payment”
-Enter payment dollar amount, then click “Make Payment”
-Enter credit card and billing info, then click “Process"
2) Send a check with your child to give to their teacher.
3) Drop off payment in the school office or in PHS room 105.
 
 
FREE & REDUCED MEAL PROGRAM APPLICATION
 
The free and reduced price school meal program is available to all students, Pre-K through 12th grade. The eligibility scale to receive free/reduced meals, as determined by the USDA, is based on household size and income. Many families qualify and are encouraged to submit an application. Applications can be completed online through the Parent Portal (see ‘Lunchroom Application’) or download it HERE.
 
Paper application copies can also be obtained from each school site secretary or the Child Nutrition office, located in Perry High School, room 105. A new application must be submitted every school year.
 
Application submissions are preferred at the beginning of the school year to ensure the school maintains state funding assistance and can appropriately plan and budget for students in the future. However, free and reduced applications are accepted at any time throughout the year.
 
This program supports more than just meals for students. Every completed application contributes to helping our school qualify for additional funding from the federal government to help support teaching and learning. Those funds directly impact every district program and department, including instruction, athletics, technology, etc. Students who qualify are also eligible for many other benefits, such as:

  • ACT fee waiver
  • College Application fee waiver

DONATIONS TO HELP STUDENTS COVER SCHOOL MEALS
 
While many families qualify for free or reduced school meals, there are still several families who don’t meet the eligibility and struggle to pay student meal balances. School meals are a great deal, but the cost can really add up!
 
The Perry Public Schools Child Nutrition Department is offering an opportunity for individuals and organizations interested in helping students in need cover unpaid school lunch balances. Patrons can donate funds to anonymously help students struggling with food insecurity. Whether it is a one-time donation or if patrons decide to give monthly, a donation of any size helps make a difference!
 
• $52.50 covers two weeks of meals for one student
• $105 covers one month of meals for one student
(Full pay breakfast and lunch for one student is $5.25 per day)

The Child Nutrition department accepts monetary donations year-round for school meal assistance. Donations go into a ’Share the Love’ account. Funds are distributed to negative lunch accounts to assist Perry families who are facing hardship and are unable to make full payments on their child’s account.
